In the fall of 2009 Historic York undertook its first archaeological dig at the Schultz house. Over 65 volunteers assisted lead archaeologist Steve Warfel in excavating 85 test pits over a portion of the property. Artifacts including a clay pipe, historic wood charcoal, pearlware, redware, and other various items were uncovered.
